FAQs

I have over thirty-five years’ experience in the building industry. This includes extensive experience in designing new homes, extensions, and renovations. Having worked with several building, kitchen, and bathroom design companies, I have acquired a comprehensive knowledge of residential construction.

I also have extensive interior design knowledge having worked in this industry for a number of years. This enables me to put the icing on the cake when it comes to design direction.

No, this is a consultancy not a construction business. What I do, however, is utilise my extensive knowledge of the residential building industry and do what I love doing most – helping people get their dream home resultI do this by gathering your brief, brainstorming and discussing your visions and ideas. From there we create an awesome plan for you to move forward with.

This is dependent upon the nature of your project. Often many clients only need one consultation to get them on their way; others love the idea and sometimes want me to journey through the many varied and different aspects of their home construction/extension/renovation.

The more detailed answer to this question is covered in the first consultation. As I gain a more comprehensive understanding of the project at hand, we will then have a clearer understanding of how much time we’ll need to spend together!

Don’t stress about this at all. During our initial consultation and once I have a clearer understanding of your needs, I will then have more clarity and be able to work out how I can best help, assist and guide you with the process.

You can mix and match my services. Once we’ve had the initial consultation, we will be able to ascertain which of my services will best suit your needs; and you may only need the one initial consultation to get you on your way.

Please be assured that you can ask me anything pertaining to your project and I’ll happily discuss it with you.

Many clients end up using as many as three or four of my services; mine is a holistic service and you can choose how I can help you best.

Yes of course! Often the most responsible and effective way I can help here is to determine if the plans you are contemplating best suits your block.

There is also much to be considered when purchasing your land – even land has its own idiosyncrasies! Many people can and do make unnecessary mistakes when they’ve chosen their dream floor plan only to discover that it just doesn’t work on the land that they’ve already purchased. This can easily happen in reverse as well – you’ve got the plan but can’t find the right land. Allow me to help you avoid this disappointing and potentially costly error of judgement.

This is why I’m more than willing to visit your proposed site. You could be living there for quite a while, so let’s get it right!

Absolutely. Having an expert eye look through a few homes on your short list can be worth its weight in gold. I’ll be able to advise you which house has the best potential for the extension or renovation you’re envisioning. I’ll help you consider things like the size of the land in relation to the extension or renovation you require, how extensive the slope of the land is amongst other things and how these aspects will affect your ultimate decision.

A standard consultation usually takes about an hour and a half. If you think you may need more time we can extend the length of the initial consultation or arrange an additional appointment for further discussion. It’s all about getting it right so let’s make the most of our time together.

Yes, I can recommend a range of industry professionals who deliver quality work.

There is much to discuss on this topic and quite a few important tips for you to take into account when choosing your builder; so let’s talk this one through.

I would love every person about to embark on a building project to talk with me first! I really enjoy helping people from the start. Just one consultation alone can set you on the right path and save potential frustration and financial loss.

When you feel that first flutter of uncertainty that’s definitely the time to make contact. Let’s get it sorted straightaway.
